Lynda Carter
Carter was born in Phoenix as the daughter Juanita (nee Cordova) and Colby Carter. Her mother was born in Mexico is Mexican, Spanish and French. She has one brother, Vincent and a sister named Pamela. Carter has made her television debut on Lew King's Talent Show at age 5. Carter joined a group called Just Us during high school. The band used a marimba, conga drums an acoustic, stand-up bass, and an electric. One girl from the group also played guitar. Lynda began to sing at a local pizza restaurant at the age of 15. She joined her cousins' group, The Relatives, when she was 16. The drummer of the group was Gary Burghoff, an actor. The group first started at the Sahara Hotel in Las Vegas. Carter had to enter the kitchen as she was younger than 21. She was named "Most Talented" and decided to get into music. Carter was a candidate for The Garfin Gathering in 1970. She then went on tour together with Howard (Speedy), Garfin. Their first performance together took place in the Holiday Inn Chinatown in San Francisco, which was so brand-new that it didn't have a sidewalk entrance. Therefore, they performed mostly for hotel employees and guests of the hotel who parked their cars in the garage underground. The Garfin Gathering played shows in numerous Nevada casinos, such as those between Lake Tahoe, Carson City and Reno. Carter chose to walk away from the Garfin Gathering in 1972 to pursue acting, and then went back to Arizona.
