Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin is a Canadian as well as a New Zealand actress. Paquin is a native of Canada and New Zealand-born actress. She was born in Winnipeg but brought up in Wellington She made her first acting appearance as a character in The Piano. In this romance film, at the age of 11 years old, Paquin won her second Oscar for Best Actress. Anna Paquin's full name is Anna Helene Paquin. Born on the 24th of July, 1982 at Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was the first Canadian born New Zealand actress. As as a young girl, she was awarded the Academy Award for best support actress. Paquin moved to New Zealand from Canada as young girl, and then grew up there. As a result of an audition, Flora McGrath was cast as the daughter a Scottish musician. Flora McGrath is the daughter of a muted Scottish musician who came to New Zealand to marry in the 19th century. In her teens she emigrated into the United States. Paquin had a small part as the title character when she was just a young girl as part of Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) as well as a lead part in the film Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin played Frankie Addams, a character in Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding in 1997. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad in 1997 in which she played the queen of Spain in a less prominent character. She played teenagers in Hurlyburly (1998) She's All That (1999) and A Walk on the Moon (1999) and played the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
