Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been an Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for over 20 years. She was co-founder of The Huffington Post, is the founder and CEO of Thrive Global as well an author of fifteen novels. Arianna Huffington is an independent liberal news outlet, is a television personality as well as a writer and charitable donor. Her birthplace was in Greece and relocated to England at age 16. In Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA in economics. First foreign-born graduate to hold the position of president in the famous debate club The Cambridge Union, at 21 years old she took over the position. She was an author for a conservative newspaper after the graduation ceremony and, when The Huffington Post launched a year following, she launched an online voice platform that offered criticisms on political scenarios. Her fame has helped attract a number of famous contributors. Arianna was famous when she decided in 2003 to stand as an independent Candidate in the California Recall Election to replace former Governor Davis. Alongside that, she was also the leader of the Detroit initiative that promoted fuel efficient cars. She was named one of the Most Influential Women in Media in 2009 by Forbes in 2009, gaining the 12th spot on this list. In the same year Guardian included her in the 100 most influential media on their list. AOL bought The Huffington Post from AOL in 2011. In 2012, she became the President of the AOL media group. It included a number of AOL-owned properties, such as Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Elli was the son of Konstantinos, a management and journalism consultant. They were very close to her father. However, it was her relationship with her mother who formed her. She was a leader from the beginning. In the year she turned 16, she moved from the United States to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. In college, she was a member of the Cambridge Union, a college debating club. As the third woman president and first foreigner, she was the president of Cambridge Union. She graduated in 1972 with an MA in Economics. In the years following the graduation ceremony, she became a critic columnist and television host. She also appeared in an edition of Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books, utilizing editorial guidance from him.
